Imagine that when you were born, the years started with 18, Hitler wasn't around, yet - let alone planes, spaceships, computers and the internet - and your son is now 95 years old. You must have witnessed a lot of changes in the world, allthough they might have passed by your home without you even noticing. Well, just ask Hawa Sacko what it's like.

Al-Maisan decided to travel further east. He had heard of the Silk Route, a network of tracks connecting the Mediterrenean with the Far East, and wanted to follow it to the great empires he had heard of.

Sorry, but I've been unwillingly ignoring Trioscuri for a couple of weeks now. I'll be picking up speed again, pretty soon. We've left Al-Maisan deciding not to stay with Buddha longer. He was about to leave for other kingdoms and empires and, most of all, religions to explore.

Buddha also explaind that Karma is the law that every action has an effect. This explains inequality in the world and many other things. It also means that if you do right, right is done to you. Al-Maisan had some questions about this, but he had learned enough. This was not as much a religion as it was a philosophy, a way of life. He had to move on, he still had areas to explore.

When Al-Maisan asked how this could be done, Buddha replied with his Fourth noble truth. To reach the end of suffering, you have to follow the Noble 8-fold path. This is, in short, being moral (through what we say, do and our livelihood), focussing the mind on being fully aware of our thoughts and actions, and developing wisdom by understanding the Four Noble Truths and by developing compassion for others.

Al-Maisan asked Buddha wether it was possible to stop suffering. Buddha told him that suffering could be overcome amd true happinesse is possible. To achieve this one has to learn to live each day at a time, without thinking of the past or en imaginative future. If one does that, he, or she, has more time and energy to help others. Then Nirvana is reached. This is Buddha's third truth.
